Food Bits: Tasting Gringo's Mexican Grill

It was my first time to try the special dishes here at the Gringo's Makati when our team decided to have a team building dinner. The food they served truly satisfied my cravings since I'm a seafood and Mexican food lover!

Yes, Gringo's offers a combination of Mexican dishes and grilled goodness.

So without further talks, let me share with you some of the food I've tried during our dinner. These are the dishes on our table:

Grilled Squid in a Mango Sauce

The Mexican Rice

Grilled Chicken

A Garlic Mushroom

Taco Con Carne

Gringo's is open 24 hours. Aside from grilled and Mexican food, they also offer party drinks and juices. Oh by the way, I love their house blend iced tea and lemonade. Their house blend iced tea is thick and taste like my favorite 'milk tea.' Meanwhile, the lemonade is made of fresh fruits - lemon and calamnasi combining a sweet sour taste. This is their drink I love the most!

Definitely, we will be coming back here for more! The Mexican rice, the grilled squid in a mango sauce, and the lemonade marked my senses!

Have you also tried Gringo's? Which of their menus you love the most?! 03/09/2019 (Bits of Rocks)

Food Bits: Delights at the Seventh High!

We had a fun night last week at the APEX Lounge of Seventh High in Bonifacio Global City (BGC), The Fort Taguig. The international heartthrob Chris Cayzer serenaded us with his rock and melo music together with his band led by Ali Alejandro in an event dubbed as the "Soul Nite."

But aside from the music of Chris, we enjoyed more the foods served by the resto bar. Yes, the Seventh High brought us four of their newest best offering which completed our night. Well, check out those dishes that fulfilled our senses:

The Chicken Barbeque Quesadillas

Yes, this is the menu I love the most! It is a Barbeque chicken Breast and Monterey Jack Cheese Sandwiched between Crispy Tortilla! It's so yummy that you will truly ask for more! Take note, I ate three plates of this dish! It's tastier and yummier than the regular taco we used eat.

Chicken Barbeque Quesadillas Was The One I Love Most

The Wild Mushroom Pasta

As the term suggests, this is the type of pasta recipe that will drive you wild! Yeah, this food made me wilder on the said night. Imagine that I even went up the stage jammin' and singin' with Chris! Wow! This recipe is made up of Shitake White button porcini mushrooms sauteed with cream and tossed with linguine pasta, finished with truffle oil.

Wild Mushroom Pasta Made My Night Wilder

The Steak and Egg

What if an ordinary egg made so special blended with meaty ingredients?! Well, that was the third dish served to us during the "Soul Nite." At first, we can easily recognize it as a simple egg. But when you taste it, ...awesome! The menu is made up of seared beef tenderloin topped with sunny side up quail egg. It is served with English muffin and bearnaise sauce.

My Tummy Made Full with Steak and Eggs

The Sticky Rice and Mango Flambe

Now it's time for dessert! And since I'm a dessert-lover person, I appreciate all the desserts served to me and even want to make my own style! During the said night, I discover something new and interesting dessert to serve to our guest. It's a combination of two popular Pinoy delicacies - rice cake and mango! Who knows that these two foods can be put together to give us something new! This dessert is a local rice cake and fresh ripe mangoes tossed in caramel syrup.

Oh I Like This Sticky Rice and Mango Flambe

Great, four new dishes which captivated our taste buds! Now, there were four new menus to crave for! Thanks to Seventh High for letting us taste their new masterpieces!

If you were to ask, which of these four servings do you love and like the most?! Which of them will you taste first?!

The said "Soul Nite" event not only fed our ears with great good songs from Chris Cayzer, it fed our stomach with yummy foods as well! Two thumbs up Seventh High for this! We will truly come back for more! (RCB)

Food Bits: The Red and White Spaghetti!

I enjoyed different foods and dishes in the different events or presscons I have attended from the different restaurants or hotels. Before start eating, I took first photos of the foods. And I really lots of them in my camera.

Since I'm not a food blogger, I didn't include those foods in my posts. But since those foods were really great and may caught your interest, I am now starting again my food segment! Remember years ago, I shared with you my own recipes. This time, I'll share my food events.

Let me start with the food during my recent UNIQLO Spring Summer 2013 Launch in Venice Piazza, Mickinley Hills. We had our dinner in Tokyo Cafe. The major dishes they served was the red and white spaghetti.

Here are the photos of the foods I've tasted:

The Red Spaghetti

The White Spaghetti

I Love Tokyo Cafe!

Tokyo Cafe is actually a Japanese resto. They were serving Japanese foods. The Spaghetti and the piazza were in Japanese style. Actually in the red spaghetti, there are shrimps. And the taste was truly extra-ordinary!

The white spaghetti is actually their style of carbonara. There are some strands of fish in the meal making it more delicious!

The two spaghettis were served together with fried chicken, bread, and fresh ice tea! So tempting! Love it! (RCB)

Chicken Macaroni Salad for the New Year!

On the New Year's eve, one of the desserts we prepared and served was the chicken macaroni salad. Besides the graham buko and mango desserts and buko salad, I told my mom to also serve a macaroni salad to give way to a non-sweet dessert. This is my first time to make a chicken mac salad!

Since it's my first recipe, I'm not sure about all its ingredients. I text my teammate to confirm the ingredients. But I received no reply from her so I called my close friend.

Thanks to my close friend. He gave me all the ingredients to prepare a chicken mac salad. He even instructed me what to do.

And here's how I do it:

Boiling and Draining the Macaroni Pasta

Mixing All the Ingredients

Putting the Finished Product in their Respective Trays

Placing the Finished Product in Refrigerator for Cooling

A followed my friend's instructions in preparing this chicken mac salad. The ingredients were elbow macaroni, boiled chicken flesh, mayonnaise, powdered black pepper, chopped carrot, and dried grapes (pasas). Yup, there's no need for an all-purpose cream! According to him, they didn't used an all-purpose cream in preparing this said.

Some people add an onion to it. But in our case, we don't like! Others even add pineapple chunks or cherries to it! When all these ingredients were complete, time now to mix them!

When the mixture is finally complete, we can now place it in their respective trays and put in in refrigerator for cooling! Afterwards we can serve it!

Oh I really love it! It tasted so good! Yup, this is more delicious than those I previously tasted from the other makers! My mom even like it!

When you visit me in our home, I'll serve you some! Happy New Year everyone! C",)

A Mango-Grahams Dessert for the Holiday!

Before our Noche Buena last night, I made another dessert. This is my very own-made Mango-Grahams Dessert!

Before, I already made different flavors of Grahams Dessert. The Buko and the Coffe were some of the flavors I previously made. This time, I created the mango!

Below is how I made it:

Preparing All The Ingredients

Mixing the All-Purpose Cream and the Condense Milk in a Bowl

Slicing the Mangoes

Putting the Grahams Flakes on the Respective Trays

Putting the Other Ingredients in the Tray

The Ready Made Product

Putting the Finished Product on the Freezer

It's very fun doing this! After so many times, I have made another dessert of mine! And we served this dessert during the Christmas eve! Yup, I've been very busy recently so I wasn't able to made new desserts. Thanks God, I'm free this Holiday (though very busy in my blogging career) so I have time to create this one!

My younger brother really love this dessert. He even wants more! He requested me on the New Year's eve to make more new Grahams Dessert! He really love it! And I also do! =)

What can you say about my dessert?! Would you even like it?! Would you like to taste some?!

Well, when you visit us here in our home, I will serve you some! Have a great holidays! Enjoy! C",)
