November 2011 - "Looking Back and Looking Forward to My Corporate Stories!"

This month of November 2011 is really a great transition to my corporate career. I am facing a new career in the different company and at the same time leave my present.

Yup, I already filed my resignation to my present company last October 14, 2011 and will take effective on November 17, 2011. In other words, I will leave this company 15 days later.

After 3 years and 9 months of fruitful career, I decided to leave my current company to look for a better opportunities and greater career growth! As they say, for "greener pasture!"

For this month of November 2011, I like to pay tribute to this company. I will share with you some of my memorable experiences here. I'll share with you my ups and downs here, all the challenges and success I have with it for the past 3 years and 9 months!

What are the opportunities I got here?! What is my golden age and my dark age here in my present company?! How about the sweet love lives I had?! Who are the friends I had with and of course the 'kontrabidas' who made my corporate life miserable?! All these things pertaining to my present employer will all be yours as my special feature for this month of November!

And of course, I will also give you a glimpse to the new career I will have in my new company. So exciting...!!! Oh yeah!

U Rock 5!

Last Friday during our Full Team Meeting (FTM), I gave another surprise to my teammates. This is called "U Rock 5"! What is it? And what's the significant of it?

Well, if I were to ask you, can you guess what is this so called "U Rock 5"? Actually before I announced or presented it in front of the whole team, I challenged them first to guess the meaning of it! And one of my teammates partially got the correct answer!

Yup, this is my very own way of recognizing and appreciating the good deeds done by my teammates during my project. It is my very own way of giving Bravo cards to my people with an added chocolates and gift packs!

Since I was the one who assumed the role of a Test/Project Manager or Test Coordinator (specific term in our team which means Test or Project Manager) for a particular project then it became successful, I then gave back the blessings to my best performing people.

In my project, 5 people stood out! They showed their best to accomplished their assigned task. That's why I allotted a special recognition day to them called "U Rock 5"! U which means "you" or "them", then 5 which symbolizes the total number of my recipients!

Those 5 people received from me a Bravo card, a chocolate, and a souvenir item (a small pooch containing chocolates) which they can use later!

Yeah, they were so happy as I called their names! They were so thankful to me as they received their gift packs! Each of these 5 people happily posed a picture with me!

And before we concluded this mini-program of recognition, I promised to them that next time this would not only 5. Maybe on my next projects, this would become "U Rock 10" or maybe "U Rock All" defending on the performance of my teammates!

Indeed my recently held project as a Project Manager was successful knowing that I was very new for the said job role! And "U Rock 5" spoke a sign of thanks to my people who performed very well! C",)

Two Years in My Company!

My Very First Picture Here in My Company

February 11, 2008 - It was exactly two years from now since I was hired here in my third job! So many things were happened! Many good memories were now printed in my own history. I have been with the different people and friends here. Some of them were still here, some already moved-on to pursue another career!

So, as part of my second year anniversary here in my company in this same date, join me as we go back in time two years ago! Here are some of my picture memories taken during my early days here in the company:

My First Day @ Work...

The Pantry on My Early Days!

I was hired on the first week of February, 2008. Initial interviews, exams, then final interview and medical exam happened on this week. Then my first day started on February 11, 2008! Actually, I started Tuesday instead of Monday since they only had a 4-day per week work. Saturday, Sunday, and Monday were their offs!

I started to work in a very plain working station with a CRT PC just like what you seen in the pictures!

Actually in the pictures were my former team members. Majority of them, I think 6 members were already in the different company! My manager who hired me will also leave her new team as well as our company by the end of this month since she will go abroad!

Look at me in the pictures, I was so thin and really, really looked young! I really looked like a teenage boy that time! =)

My First Teammates...Missing Them!

Though happened in March 19, 2008, one of my most memorable experience here was my first birthday here! Yeah, just like what you have seen, I spent my first birthday here on my first month. I was also in a nightshift that time. I brought lots of foods to all my teammates like Spaghetti, Salad, loaf of bread and Ube Halaya!

My officemates really loved my foods. They even asked for more!

This was our first office located in the 35TH Floor! That was really memorable to me specially the pantry wherein you could see the tops of the other building! It was really a relaxing place every time you eat there!

Of course, I also missed my former first working station. Though plain and simple, many good things and memories were left there!

But most of all, I truly missed my former teammates who then became part of my corporate life! The friendship and camaraderie we had were meaningful! Our communications were now only in the internet!

Hayz...really missing those days! Two years had passed! For two years of my stay here in my company, I really grow and improved not only physically and financially but also in terms of career, skills, camaraderie, and memories! I was then so thankful...!!! c",)

I Remember The Days VI: "First Night Shift!"

Tomorrow, February 11, I'll be celebrating my 2nd year anniversary here in my company! Hayz...time was really so fast! It was just recently, I graduated in College, then immediately applied for my first job, then resigned from it and hired to the second one...'till hired here in my third company! And now, I am celebrating my 2nd year tenure! Thanks God!

As part of my 2nd year celebration, I will share with you another moments during my early days here in my company!

Yup, that was my very first night shift experience here in our company! Yeah, in this company, I experienced to work in US time or in a night shift. Since our big bosses were in US and we need to coordinate with them, we were assigned to work following their time!

Those pictures above were taken during our team meeting! See how cool we were during the meeting! Lots of fun, laughter, and joys were all in the faces of night shifters!

Actually these were also the night meeting wherein our manager gave recognition, appreciations, and souvenir items to the member who did well in the job! And glad to say that I'm one of those! =)

The Evolution of My Workstation!

In accordance to my second year anniversary celebration here in my company, I promised you that this February, one of my three main dishes here in The Rock Land is all about my humble beginning in my company!

One of the important part of the company where you perform your daily work is the workstation! Our workstation or cubicle can we somewhat called as our second room next to our personal rooms in our homes.

Therefore here in my company, the most important place for me is my own workstation! For my two-year tenure here in my office, my workstation also grows...it evolves!

Here's how my workstation evolves from my very first day in my company to the present time:

Feb. 11 to June 2008 - "My First Workstation"

June to Sept. 2008 - "Brand New Workstation in the New Office"

Sept. 2008 to Nov. 2009 - "My Solo Artistic Mini-Office"

What can you say about this evolution? Which of the era above you like the most?!

(February 11 - June 2008) - My very first workstation was in our former main office in RCBC Tower, Makati City. There, my area was too plain and simple without any decorations! It has a plain green walls that surrounded me. My table was a shinny light-brown with varnish! My first computer here was the old black CRT!

(June - September 2008) - Then, when we transferred to our second office here now in McKinley, The Fort, I have also located into a new workstation. This time the walls were composed of three colors: red, brown, and gray that were fine to the eyes! My table then was a smooth plain white. There, I started to put decorations and arts in my place! Still my PC there was a CRT.

(September 2008 - November 2009) - We made our first transfer within the office in September of 2008. Again, I was placed to the new workstation. But since it was within the same office, still same workstation style. In this area, I got my new LCD flat screen PC. This adds design to my area. It really saves space! I then used my extra space in putting more arts and designs in my work station!

(November 2009 - Present) - I am now here in my present workstation! Well, do I need to describe it more since I already featured it here in my previous post?! Hmmm...maybe the only thing that makes difference is that it is more wider and more expose to the people behind me! Still my arts and designs are similar to my previous but it is more attractive now!

I don't know when we will transfer again to a new workstation. But for now, I still keep my area more beautiful and attractive! And take note, I always ensure my area to be fragrant and disinfected since everyday, I always rub alcohol on it! My table then became really smooth!

This picture was taken from our office way back in 2008! Two years had already passed. Like I've told you, I will be celebrating my 2nd Year Anniversary here in my work this coming February 11. And I will share with you each of my bits and pieces for this one!

We're already now in the month of February! And when we are speaking of February, only one word comes in our mine...and that is Valentines!

2.) FORTUNE - Chinese New Year formally opens or starts in February! The year of the tiger will begins to reign this month. Since our lives were very much influenced by Chinese beliefs and traditions and since I have a Chinese blood, for sure I will post articles dedicated to Chinese new year! "Kung Hei Fat Choi..."!

3.) CAREER - And most of all. February is my second year anniversary! Yeah, it's my second year anniversary in my company! February 11, 2008 to be exact was the date that I started to work here in my third company! I will share with you some of my memorable experiences here in my company. And of course, I will tell you how I started here, how I grow, how my career here really blooms!! It will gonna be looking back and beyond here in my corporate work!
