Dear Survivor: I Triumph the Challenging Times!

Dear Survivor,

 

How are you today? Are you still doing fine? It's already more than one year now that we are staying at home, wearing face mask and face shield, and having our alcohols as our 'bestfriend' taking them in our bags whenever we go. Yeah, I write you this letter to formally and personally congratulate you for surviving and reigning triumphant in these trying times!

 

Covid-19 conquers the whole world, but you never let it conquer you! Thank you God for never letting me alone in fighting this crisis therefore until now, I'm still here strong and fighting writing this letter with full of will and inspirations!

 

Today, I want to enumerate in this simple letter what pandemic brought me... those great things to be thankful for, and the changes making my life better and grateful making me as an Ultimate Survivor in these trying times!

 

So without further ado, let's start counting our blessings!

 

1.  Learning New Things Specially Cooking!

 

I really love to eat! We even tried different dishes and delicacies from different restos before pandemic. But did you know that this pandemic brought me more to kitchen not to eat but do most of the cooking?! Yes, I learn to cook during this period! And I already cooked most of my favorite foods such as sinigang, dinengdeng, tinola, adobo (with a twist), goto, and more variations of my favorite seafood! 

 

Since I'm staying at home most of the time, I've learned the art of cooking! And I'm proud to say that my output tastes one of the best (even surpassed the taste of the foods we often ask to be delivered). In fact, I already did my cooking vlogs sharing my very own "How To Cook Recipe"  to my viewers on my YouTube channel. And here are two of my cooking videos:

 

  Well if you have time to visit my place, I'll let you taste some of my cooking! :)) 

2. Turning Officially As a "Plantito" Making My Roof Top as a Sky Garden!

 

Many people turning to a plantito or plantita is not anymore a new story  to most of us during pandemic. But what my story makes unique with the others is that, I was able to transform my roof top  into an all-green 'Sky Garden' with a newly installed artificial grass!

So without further talks, I'll tour you then to my gardening accomplishment. Here they go:

3. Discovering My Talent in Singing!

Yeah, I am a shy type of person. I can't dance or sing in public. But this pandemic gave me more 'kapal ng mukha' in Social Media! I've discovered that I have a talent in singing... that I can sing actually! 

 

While everyone got crazy over TikTok,  I built my career in the WeSing app. I did my own covers of many of the hit songs. And these are some the samples:

4. Getting Hooked with Thai Series and Movie!

 

While everyone is on KDramas, I'm on Thai dramas! This pandemic brought my heart to Thailand! I got hooked with different Thai series and Thai movies! I became a huge fan boy of many Thai actors. In fact, I already know more about Thai actors rather than KPop artists. And yes, I am more updated with Thai actors that with our own local showbiz!  

 

My YouTube vlog then was re-tagged as "Bringing Thailand Closer to You Heart" as I gave more updates about Thai artists than with the local Pinoy celebrities. These videos were some of the proofs:

5. Got New Sets of Collection . . . Got Addicted to Thai Merch!

 

Sawadee Khap!  This pandemic truly converted my heart into Thai! Aside from getting hooked with the Thai series and Thai celebrities, I also got addicted buying different Thai Merch straight from Thailand! These add to the wide range of my collections!

 

I'm not yet done with my unboxing of my lovely Thai merchs, but here are photo glimpse of some of those new collections:

6. More Exciting Celebrity Virtual Interviews!

 

Pandemic didn't prohibited me to do my passion - to interview different celebrities and attend more events!  

 

Even I'm staying at home for more than one year now, I'm still able to attend events and interview different personalities virtually! Here are some of my recent virtual interviews making me more in-demand as a blogger / vlogger and online worthy:

These are some of the great things pandemic had brought me. Instead of making myself bored or problematic because of the crisis happening all over the world, I made myself more worthy and productive discovering different new things! And with that, I can proudly say that I am an Ultimate Survivor... still living and kicking!!!  

Congrats Rocky! I'm so proud of you! I didn't only write this letter to appreciate your fighting spirit but to give an inspiration and spread good vibes to everyone! "Su Su Na Krub" (means "Keep on Fighting" in Thai)!

Bits of Rocks Celebrates 10 Years of Blogging!

The blog that started it all...

March 15, 2008 when my very first post was published in blogspot via Bits of Rocks, my very first personal blog. And yes, I'm proud celebrating its 10TH Year Anniversary. This also marked my 10 years in the blogging community!  

Though I started blogging in Friendster way back September 2007 with "Bits of Rocks,"  I consider March 15, 2008 as my blog anniversary and the official birth date of Bits of Rocks because this was the date that I started blogging in blogger or blogspot with its own url which is www.bitsofrocks.blogspot.com before it turns to www.bitsofrocks.com.     

And to commemorate my 10 years in blogging industry, here is my 10 Years Bits of Rocks Blogging Anniversary logo:

The 7TH TV Series Craze Awards 2016 Airs in "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano"

Aside from "Till I Met You," our very own The 7TH TV Series Craze Awards 2016 was also aired in ABS-CBN's action primetime TV series "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano." 

"FPJ's Ang Probinsyano" was hailed as the Overall Best TV Series of 2016. And yes, it also bagged the most number of awards including the Leading Man of the Year for Coco Martin.

A new version of this ad recognition is still airing in ABS-CBN during the timeslot of "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano."

Thank You #Kapuso GMA-7 Network for Two Blog Awards for Two Consecutive Years!

For two consecutive years, yours truly received two blogging awards from the Kapuso network, GMA-7.

The two blogging awards were given during the annual Christmas Party for the Bloggers wherein different stars graced the event. Last 2015, the stars who graced the event were Ken Chan, Glaiza De Castro, Bentong, the T.O.P. band, and Favio Ide.

This year, Ken Chan was also present who himself  together with Lucho Ayala gave me the award. Also present on the event was Rich Asuncion and the "Meant to Be" hearrthrobs namely Ivan Dorschner and Addy Raj.

Runner Rocky on Its Fresh New Look

Yours truly's sports, fitness, and marathons blog Runner Rocky now sports a fresh new look! 

As I celebrate my second year anniversary in the running community and as I upgrade myself into the field of running and fitness, it's now time to upgrade my fitness blog as well!  

And yes, it now clearly defines its three major topics - sports, fitness, and marathons! And my fitness interviews with the different celebrities and personalities are also featured in this new website.

Seven Years of TV Series Craze

TV Series Craze, my most successful blog site in the field of showbiz and entertainment is now on its Seventh Solid Successful Year!

This website which started on April 2009 is today's one of the pioneers, most searched, and most visited entertainment website. This also serves as one of my achievements as a blogger. Yeah, this blogsite even paveway for me to enter showbiz. 

7 years with more than 7 million hits, TV Series Craze is indeed one of Rocky's huge success in the blogging community.  And yes, I'll promise to write more interesting articles and blogposts about your favorite celebrities, TV shows, movies, and other trending topics.

Winning No. 1 in the Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs 2015 is More than a Dream Come True!

The hardworks finally pay off! Runner Rocky, my newly owned blog for fitness, sports, and running was recognized and awarded last Saturday, October 10, 2015 as one of the Emerging Influential Blogs for the year.

And yes, this award for me is more than a dream come true! Why? It's because, I didn't only make it on the top 10, I was even emerged as No. 1!

Runner Rocky took the No. 1 spot in this annual award organized by Influential Blogger and Ms. Janette Toral, an e-commerce advocate and founder of Digital Filipino.

Aside from being No. 1 in the ranking, Runner Rocky also created a new record in the history of this award as it is their very first winner with a sports and fitness niche.

Since 2010, it was always my own tradition every year to send my article nominees for this award even though I have no new blog. Two of my existing blogs today namely TV Series Craze (2010) and The Lifestyle Portal (2012) were also products of this writing project but sad to say, they didn't won! That's why I'm so much thankful that Runner Rocky made it for them.

August 2015: "Blogging Unlimited"

This is my actual scenario while in MRT everyday:

Yes, while having my long trip from home to office, I am busy posting in my different social media - instagram, facebook, twitter, timehop, bitstrips, and blogging. I have so many stuffs to share with you guys! So many backlogs to post.

Therefore, we will use this month of August 2015 to share with you my avid readers all my pending posts. So many events I have attended with, so many runs I conquered with, so many selfies with the different personalities - all of them hope I can share with you this so-called ghost month.

All those things will be published in my four major blogs with different genres namely Bits of Rocks (personal), TV Series Craze (entertainment), The Lifestyle Portal (lifestyle), and Runner Rocky (fitness).

@rockenroll_04 Breaches 2K Followers!

Yours truly's official instagram account which is @rockenroll_04 now reached 2,000 plus followers! Yehey!

Reaching the said 2K  followers is one of my goals this 2015. I was so thankful that  this goal was already achieved even though year 2015 was not yet concluded. I've reached it last Friday, July  17, 2015.

In 2014 before the end of December, I've reached 1K followers in IG and I've included that in my yearender post. From that time, I've set another goal to reach 2K followers before the end of 2015. Thanks God I've achieved it earlier than expected!

Ending the Month of May with Four Consecutive Events

It was not only a back-to-back. Rather, it was a back-to-back-to-back-to-back! Four consecutive events ended my month of May 2015 which covered my four blogs of four different genres. As they say, yes "lagare kung lagare!" "Mahirap pero masarap!"

Here are my four consecutive events on the last two days of May which kept me too busy with a lack of sleep:

Saturday (May 30):

* Event 1 - Men's Health Training Combine, 6am to 11am | Sparta Gym, Mandaluyong City

* Event 2 - GMA Bloggers Style Camp - Team GabRu, 12nn to 6pm | Studio Central, Quezon City

* Event 3 - Honda Let Your Beat Out Launch, 6pm to 1am, Music Hall, SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City

Sunday (May 31):

* Event 4 - Alaska World Milk Day, 4am to 8am, SM Mall of Asia Running Grounds, Pasay City

Now what can you say about my timeline?!

The good thing was that, I shifted from IT to sports to showbiz to lifestyle to running! Yes, fresh from work when I started my first physical fitness event on a Saturday morning. 

Definitely on my succeeding posts here and in my other blogs, I will share with you all those events one by one! So get ready and stay tune folks! (RCB)

Happy 6 Years with AdSense!

Aside from my entertainment website TV Series Craze which is now celebrating its 6TH Year Anniversary, proud to say that I am also celebrating my 6 years with Google AdSense.

AdSense is an elite ad network from Google which brings revenue on your websites. The same month and year when TV Series Craze was born, I also became one of the elite bloggers associate with AdSense. That was April 2009, the month and year were my blogs rose, started to become active, and bring home incomes for me!

6 years with AdSense is such another accomplishment and achievement of yours truly in terms of blogging and social media! Another thing to be proud of! Thank you AdSense! (RCB)

  - This is my No. 1 in my list for this year. This blog site deals with the extra-ordinary things and trending topics around us. Though it is very new in the blogasphere, it already gained popularity and huge hits and readerships. And yes, this blog site truly inspires me to do the best in my blogs. Very soon, I will be one of the writers in this blog.

2. Matakaw na Bata

    - Talking about inspiration, I really admire the person behind this blog. Yeah, she is truly super active in Social Media and a very transparent to all bloggers. And yes, every year, she has a new blog and she can maintain it though super busy. Of course, I'm her No. 1 supporter in every new blog she had created.

3. Center Tech News     

    - I'm a techie guy and my profession deals with technology. Definitely, I always love to see and visit new tech blogs. Therefore, this blog site lands on my third place.

4. Pinas Social

    - This blog deals with social issues and human interests. Therefore as a person, I need to equip myself about social issues around me.

5. What's the Packs

- This blog is very informative. Every time I visit this blog, I learn new things. I love how the author behind this blog presented his topic.  

6. Delightful Desserts by Zheyme

-  I love foods specially desserts! My meals wouldn't be completed without desserts on my table. That's why this blog captivates my taste and put it on my list.

7. Slambook Project

-  Since childhood, I love to read comics. And my comics craving really comes to live visiting this blog site.

8. Astig

-"Title pa lang Astig na!" Well, one word to describe why I put this blog on my list - Astig! This is the blog I that I always see on Facebook. Yes, the owner of this blog is really big time that he can afford to advertise on Facebook.

9. Xolxol

- Very cool title! Truly catchy that you will really tempted to visit the site. Ang Galing!

10. Knowing Ropes

-     And to complete my Top 10 list for this year is no other than this blog. Yeah, I put this one on my list because I love how the author of it presented the issues with in-depth analysis. Great one!

"Going Stronger at 6," this is this year's theme of your favorite blog "Bits of Rocks" as we celebrate our 6TH Year Anniversary!

Yeah, time is really so fast. I couldn't imagine that this personal blog of yours truly will reach its 6TH Year birthday. Started in March 15, 2008, "Bits of Rocks" stood stronger, tougher, and better on top! Hence our 6TH Year Anniversary is dubbed as "Going Stronger at 6!"

Happy 5TH Blog Anniversary Bits of Rocks!

Today, March 15, 2013 is the 5TH birthday of the one and only, the star of all the blogs, Bits of Rocks! 

It was 2008 the same date when this blog started. My self-titled poem called "Rocky" which I wrote in College and was published in our official Student Publication's literary folio served as my very first post here in this blog site. Well, you may check it out here in this link: Rocky

Started with a plain all black background with green font in the main title and white text font in the post body, this blog was my very first blog in the blogger's blogspot platform. It became the "Mother of All My Blogs" as from this blog emerged my other blogs with the different niche like Rhythm of the Rock, The Rock's Literary Collection, TECHkyrocky, and TV Series Craze.   

Bits of Rocks in 2009 changed name to The Rock Land then to Rock Republic in 2012 but only for a week until it return back to Bits of Rocks the same year.  This is my personal blog site which tells everything you want to know about me as well as cool and humor posts with bits of lifestyle and entertainment. Until stars and different personalities join the Bits' bandwagon!  

I'm so proud that my blog, my very first blog, this blog is standing strong and still! Being in the blogging community for 5 solid years now is really a great achievement! And I'm glad that this site even evolves!

Blogs are like mushrooms, they grow easily everywhere in the world-wide web focusing on different topics and interests. But of the hundred blogs created every year, few grew with impact and influence not only on the online world but also in our society.

This is the blogging project I waited every year which recognizes the influential newly created blogs. The Top 10 Emerging Influential Blogs for 2012 aims to recognize the influence of newly born blogs. These are blogs that started anytime from June 1, 2011 to the present. I am a magazine collector, an avid follower of different billboards, a lifestyle enthusiast, and a trend settler. That is the reason why I gave birth to this new blog. Yes, this is my newly created blog born last February of this year. It's a lifestyle blog with a touch of entertainment focusing on magazine covers, billboards, and trending topics. Definitely, it's number one on my list.

2. The Chronicles of Love Mindanao

It's very rare for a certain personal blog to focus on a particular place in the country. I grew up being a Manileno and not yet given a chance to explore the beautiful place of Mindanao. Thanks that a blogger features this one of the beautiful and important places in the Philippines. That's why, it's my second choice.

3. MAG of My Life

I truly admire mommy bloggers. Despite their busy schedules taking care their children or spending time working, they still find time to blog different interesting things. This is my third choice not only because it's a mommy blog, but also because I got amazed with its title. MAG is actually an acronym for the names "Marco", "Anarc" & "Gelo" who were the mommy blogger's hubby and two children!

4. The Web Magazine

It's great to find that there is a blog which combines three different niches - personal, lifestyle, and entertainment. Or better say that this is a 3-in-1 blog that can easily captivates your online interest. Therefore, I put this blog on my fourth list.

5. Mighty Maus Trap

I caught my attention by this blog because of its unique style. The author relates herself to a mouse who is trapped in blogging. And the mouse is actually the author's name - Mau! This personal lifestyle blog is my top 5 for the year.

6. Blogged: Eccentric Yet Happy

I got curious with the title of this blog. It captivates my attention that's why I immediately visit it. It didn't failed my expectation. It's an interesting blog which gives all your needs and feeds your variety of interest. This is the blog dubbed as the random thoughts of a lifestyle and entertainment blogger. A vegan, adventurous traveler, an audiophile, tech geek, a poet and a wanderer. Therefore, it took my sixth choice.

7. Yummy Tales

Who love foods?! Count me in, I love to eat! I even love to dine-in in different restaurants or food courts. Definitely, it's my seventh choice since this is a blog that features foods and different menus. This blog really makes me hungry every time I visit it.

8. Foodies from the Metro

Like I've told you on the previous number, I love foods and I love eating and dinning in different restaurants. But what makes this blog different is that it focuses itself to the different foods around the Metro! I love how it presents the menus and promos from different dinning places around our urban area.

9. The Purple Doll

Not because it is also a food blog, what made me decide to put this blog on my list is that, I got captivated by its cool design! It's a purple blog wherein purple dominates the totally of the blog. It even makes my laugh by its description saying "A Personal Blog-Turned-Food Blog!"

10. i am a dekaphobic

Last but the least is my tenth choice! Yes, this is another food, travel and lifestyle blog. But what made decide to include it in my list is its quirky name. Hmmm...I wonder why it is called as such?!

And that's my Top 10 pick for the year! What can you say about my choices?!

A Night of Health and Wellness with Soyami!

Just recently, Soyami, a healthy chip snack made of soya gathered all the bloggers in one health and wellness event! The event is called “Healthy Night with Soyami.”

Different health and wellness products sponsored the said event. These are the Light Water, Vit. Boost, Face One, and even the nature advocacy group Haribon.

Each of them gave a seminar-type discussion which informs the bloggers how to keep healthy and beautiful. I love the topic about the different types of sleep and about the cell renewal! =)

The even was really a remarkable and a memorable one for me! Well, it was not only because I met someone or I received different gift packs. But because, it let me know other bloggers which expanded my network of friends! And the number of bloggers who attended the said event was really huge! I even love the foods served during that night! Hehehe...I'll feature them in my next post.
