Elmo Magallona and Julie Anne San Jose's Movie 'Just One Summer' Also Reminds Me of My Summer Romances!

GMA Films just brought us their most-romantic movie of the year. It's "Just One Summer" which is also the very first big movie project of the country's one of the hottest teen love team JuliElmo!

"Just One Summer" once more showcased the perfect chemistry of Julie Anne San Jose and Elmo Magallona. No doubt why their home network trusted them with this huge movie in the leading roles!

In the movie, Julie Anne and Elmo portrayed the characters of two teenagers having different statuses in life. Elmo is the rich kid Daniel "Nyel" Cuaresma Jr. while Julie Anne is the simple farm girl named Maria Bettina "Beto" Reyes Salazar.

Beto and Nyel crossed paths when Nyel was forced to spend a summer vacation with his estranged father in order to get parental consent to study medicine abroad. Beto is working in the farm of Nyel's father's to support her study.

The good thing about this movie is that, it didn't only focus on the love story of Beto and Nyel. It is more on a family-oriented film which awakens the minds of many career-oriented parents whom for some time forget their obligations to their child. It also shares a touching story between a father and a son. It teaches us a lesson in life to love our parents since anytime, they may be taken away from us!

In the movie, Nyel is a rebellious son who hates his father so much because of believing that he left his mother while he was a kid.

Talking about the romantic side of the story, Elmo and Julie Anne didn't need to exert efforts to give us the so-called 'kilig' factor! Seeing them together even though not throwing dialogues is already a 100% 'kilig' moment! No doubt why the audiences keep on screaming every time Elmo and Julie Anne were together in one scene!

Mac Alejandre, the director of the movie once more didn't failed to give us a very good romantic movie amid of the bad weather! I admit, I'm a very big fan of Direk Mac in terms of doing romantic movies. He is the man behind the previous hit blockbuster movies of Angel Locsin and Richard Gutierrez like "Let the Love Begin" and "I Will Always Love You." I was so inspired by those movies since those movies as well as Angel and Richard reflected my previous love life way back in College!

Another thing that I love most about this movie is its theme song! Wow, Julie Anne San Jose made her very good rendition of the 80's OPM hit song "Bakit Ba Ganyan." The song was originally popularized by Ms. Dina Bonnevie! The song keeps on playing every romantic moment of Elmo and Julie Anne! I really, really falling in love on that parts of the movie!

The movie "Just One Summer" also reminds me of my past summer romances! Yup, way back in college, I got two romances which happened on two summers - 2001 and 2005. Summer of 2001 before I enter my first year in College, we had a DOST Summer training. And I fell in love with one of my summer co-scholars!

Summer of 2005 when I'm taking my advance subjects in Engineer, I also fell in love with my classmate older than me who was also an ECE student. I dubbed our love story as "One Summer Day!" Maybe on my some other posts, I can share with you separately our story! :)

Now you know why I can greatly relate with this movie of Elmo and Julie Anne! :)

Elmo and Julie Anne were also fortunate in the movie that they have the veteran actors namely Joel Torre, Cherry Pie Picache, Alice Dixson, Buboy Garovillo and Ms. Gloria Romero as the supporting casts.

With so many similarities, Albie and I look almost the same! Yeah, we are twin brothers! Albie and I are identical twins! Though we have only one face, we have different destinies or career path. As they say "isang mukha, dalawang tadhana...", we're it!

Albie or Albie Casiño is today's hottest young actor who is said to be the father of Andi Eigenmann's baby! He rose to fame after playing the character of Christian in the phenomenal hit TV series remake "Mara Clara!"

RB or Rocky Batara is yours truly! Do I need to elaborate more myself to you since you already knew me from the start?!

If there's "The Sisters", then there's "The Brothers!" And if there's Javier and Alexander in "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin," then there's Albie and RB here in "The Rock Land!" Hehehe...!!!

Who do you love more between the two of us?! Who do you prefer between Albie and RB?! It's your choice! This is another issue of star-studded look-alike but this time, it's the twin edition! Now you knew that Albie has a twin brother who is RB! Great! c",)

"Si Kokey@Ako" Versus "Si Negro@Ako"!

As I told you before, Negro is just like Kokey. Same with Rocky is like Piolo! Kokey and Negro were look alike as well as Rocky and Piolo looks the same! So combining us together, here's what you got...! We now have a two similar pictures! They were like a carbon copy of each other!

Of course if there would a fantaserye called "Si Kokey @ Ako", definitely there would be "Si Negro @ Ako" !

We're already on the first day of March! And of course, like we always do in every start of the month, I always give you a brief bird's eye view about my upcoming posts for each month!

Facebook Addiction!

Everybody go crazy about Facebook. In fact last 2009, Facebook is the No. 1 most visited, most searched, and most popular website all over the world! In other words, it is the No. 1 Social Networking Site last year 'till this early 2010. It grabbed the thrown from the previous hit Friendster, its counter-like social networking site! According to the different news and articles, with its millions and millions of subscribers, Facebook can now be a nation!

At first, I don't have any interest with Facebook. I was more active before in Friendster. Friendster before is my main social networking site though I also have a Multiply and Hi-5 accounts! All my friends have already their Facebook accounts, me don't have any!

Until last December, when I got my PC in our home, I started to create my own Facebook account! At first too boring for me since you cannot personalize your own profile like Friendster provide, but eventually I became interested to this new social-networking site!

A Growing Farm...

I wonder why almost all of my friends got addicted to Facebook! Even in our office, my officemates were talking about Farmville. They were having fun with their farms, villas, plantations, and harvests! They all aiming to got the highest points therefore many of my officemates were bringing their portable USB internet broadband in our office so that their plants wouldn't get withered!

Hayz...at first I just laughed at their crazy deeds! They got addicted with Facebook! Their word of mouths were all Facebook and Facebook! What's in this Facebook that everybody got hooked?!Hmmm...

Then after I created my account on December, my first goal with Facebook was just to earn more friends and to update my other friends with my latest activities, pictures, and status! But it turned out to be a different thing! I got addicted with the following:

Hahaha! Yeah, I already became one of them...one of the Facebook Addicts! Besides earning more friends and relationships with Facebook, I got addicted with these Facebook games. Farmville, Fishville, and Cafe World were now part of my internet hobbies!

On my first sign-up with Facebook, I was so busy adding friends. Glad that on my second day of my Facebook account, I already got hundreds of friends. It was eventually increased as my account now stepped on its 1 and 1/2 months. But I was not anymore busy with adding friends, instead I was busy adding neighbors! Haha!

I was first got addicted with Fishville. I lot designing and raising different breeds of fishes. When they grow up, I can now sell my fishes giving me lots of money. These earnings enable me to buy other more fishes, aquarium plants, decorations, and even buy other more tanks. And as you harvest and buy more aquarium things, your XP points increases and your level also get higher!

Afterwards, I also got hooked with Farmville. With Farmville, you will really feel that you are like a haciendero owning a farm! You can plant different plants and harvest them afterward. These plants and seeds have their own time span of growing. If you fail to harvest them on their specified time, they were get withered! But if you harvest them on their appropriate time, you will earn money. Just like Fishville, these moneys enable you to buy other seeds, animals, buildings, and decorations. You can even expand your lots! Great!

And lastly, my third game with Facebook is the Cafe World! I just recently opened it. In this game, you were like owning a resto or cafe business! The mechanics were similar to Fishville and Farmville! I will discuss it t you more on my next post!

My farm was now growing and expanding! I now owned lots of things and animals! I love taking pictures of it! Oops... don't worry 'coz I have my separated post exclusively about my Farmville. And also I have an exclusive separated posts for my Fishville and Cafe World! So be ready for that! Haha!

These were just some of my Facebook activities! Yeah, I admitted...I am now a certified "Facebook Addict"! Haha! How about you, are you one of us?!!! c",)

2010 Blog Content Expectations

Every start of the new year, you would see different teasers from the different TV stations of the new TV series that they will offer to their avid viewers. They gave us a short trailer teasers of what to expect in the early quarter of the year.

Well, if I were to ask you, what will you expect here in The Rock Land for this year?

Just like the two giant TV stations always do to give us a quick run down of what new TV series to expect, I will then give you a quick teaser of what topics and contents to expect for the first quarter of this year! Ready?! C'mon!

For the first quarter of 2010, here are the main topics that you should watch out only here in your favorite blog site, "The Rock Land". These are the flavor of the months:
