For the second time around, I met and mingled with the Kapuso Primetime Queen, Marian Rivera during the red carpet premiere night of their movie, "My Lady Boss."
In the movie, Marian is playing the character of a terror boss, Evelyn. She is strict and disciplinarian in the office that's why many of her officemates hate her. Until a man named Zach (Richard Gutierrez)made her heart soft!
In our second meeting, Marian is kind, jolly, and approachable. She willingly answered questions from the media with sincerity. She even showed her sense of humor as she cracked jokes making the conversation light and easy!
And of course, we posed pictures together making us a perfect pair during the night! And it seems that we were wearing same shades of attire (terno!).
"My Lady Boss" is actually the second movie together of Marian and Richard. In 2008, they were first paired in the hit movie "My Bestfriend's Girlfriend (BFGF)." Their second movie puts a great chemistry between Marian and Richard as both of them were fit in drama and comedy!
My movie review for their film will be posted in my other blog. Right now, let's first enjoy our moment together with Marian Rivera! See you again soon Yan-yan! (RCB)
When I was a kid, I dreamed to be a superhero. Me and my cousins used to portray ourselves as heroes with superpowers that can save the world. We even dressed up like them wearing the curtains or bedding when our parents were not around! And yes, we avidly watched the different superhero cartoons and TV series like Batman, Spider Man, Captain America, Iron Man, X-Men, Conan, Power Rangers, Bioman, Shaider, and Superman to imitate their moves. Of all those fictional characters, my favorite is no other than, Superman!
I wish that someday, I will be like Superman. I was amazed how he got his superpower to defeat the enemies and save the needy. I admired his strong body which functions like a steel irresistible of any harm. I grew up not only acting like Superman every playtime with my cousins and playmates but also collecting Superman memorabilia like comics, coloring books, toys, and text cards. I even cried out when my mom didn't bought me new Superman items!
Now that I'm already a young man in my mid 20s, my dream to be like Superman or any other superhero is seems to be unattainable. But as they always say, if you believe in your dream, you can achieve it. Nothing is impossible! Therefore, I'm still foreseeing myself to be like 'man of steel' even for a week!
And for one week that I have the power like the 'man of steel,' I will use it based on my one week calendar schedule below:
Day 1 (Sunday) - Before I help others or my community, I will render first my power to my own family. I will perform all the heavy tasks in our home just like a big machine therefore my mom could rest for a day free of all the household tasks!
Day 2 (Monday) - For the meantime, I will take a 5-day leave in my office to use my given superpower. But for this day, since I already had my superpower, I will use it to finish all my office tasks and obligations in advance for one month! Therefore, I can contribute a huge advance productivity in my company increasing profits and clients' trust.
Day 3 (Tuesday) - Now its my community duty! Since I'm living in Valenzuela known as a place prolong to floods, what I will do is to cleanse the city - remove all the garbage, clean the drainage, and uplift the roads leaving no area for floods or other disasters.
Day 4 (Wednesday) - After my community, let's move to a larger one, the NCR. Since our region is the center of crimes, it's now my turn to eliminate the criminals! I will help the policemen defeat the criminals by hunting them and bringing them to jail leaving Metro Manila a state free from crimes and safe to live and work with.
Day 5 (Thursday) - If I was able to defeat the criminals on Day 4, here in Day 5, I will enter the government offices! Yes, it's time to eliminate and penalize the corrupt officials and remove them from their positions. In this case, corruptions were out of service and the money from our tax will be 100% to be used for the country and fellow Filipinos! I will also get their corrupted money and give it to the needy.
Day 6 (Friday)- Now for my second to the last day as a 'Man of Steel' I will help the needy and the beggars. Since I already got the money corrupted by the unworthy government officials, what will I do next is to distribute those money to the beggars and people on the road. I'll ensure that no more beggars or needy were begging for foods or coins by giving them not only money but also a stable job even a small business like sari-sari store.
Day 7 (Saturday)- Time to give thanks! Since I can fly high above the sky with superpowers, I will find a chance to talk with the Lord to thank Him for the power He had give me even for a week. And of course, to offer prayers for the sake of others! I'll ask Him to oversee the people and community when my superpowers were gone the next day.
That's my one week schedule that I will do given a chance to have a superpower like the 'Man of Steel' for a week.

I won another new movie screening! This time, it's for the Marvel box-office flick "Iron Man 3."
And yes, I was able to watch it together with my friend in New Port Cinema 2 in Resorts World, the same venue where we watched last year's "Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn."
The third series of this superhero movie is the best among its previous two versions. It's more hi-tech and more breath-taking!
I wouldn't talk too much about this movie for the meantime since many requested to avoid spoiler. But definitely, you will enjoy this film the way we did! And I proved why it was hailed as this year's first-day highest grossing foreign film.
Here are two of the film's trailers:

"Iron Man" truly rocks the world! Two thumbs up for this movie! (RCB)
One of the well-loved anime cartoon TV series is now conquering the big screen! And I'm one of the witness as he unleashed his power on the silver screen!
Two weeks ago, I got an invite for the grand premiere night of Naruto's movie called "Naruto: The Road to Ninja" in the Director's Cut Cinema of SM Mall of Asia. I used to be a fan and an avid viewer of different cartoons and anime TV shows way back in my childhood days that's why upon receiving the invite, I immediately RSVP the PR.
I was not able to watch the whole "Naruto" series on TV because of work and busy schedules. But I've heard good reviews from this cartoon character from my friends, classmates, officemates, and co-bloggers. Therefore, I came with my friend to watch its movie version!
The story in the movie version is different from the TV series. And yes, it's much intense and powerful specially when watching it seating on the very relaxing VIP seat of Director's Cut Cinema!
To give you a glimpse of the story, here is its synopsis:
Sixteen years ago, a gigantic demon called Nine Tails was secretly released by an unknown ninja. The Nine Tails caused grave destruction to the village of Konohagakure. In order to save the village, Minato Namikaze and his wife Kushina Uzumaki—who was the jinchuuriki at the time of the attack—sealed away the demon inside their new born son Naruto Uzumaki. This act cost them both their lives leaving Naruto alone to grow and survive in the ninja world.
Though the demon has been sealed off, the town did not enjoy the peace for long when members of a dreaded shinobi group called the Akatsuki caused chaos in Konohagakure. Naruto managed to launch a counter-attack however, he wonders why these ninjas are alive when they were meant to have died. Naruto feels lonely of the thought that he doesn’t have any parents left to care for him and congratulate him on his success against the shinobi group. During that time, a masked man appears in Konoha where Naruto and Sakura are both attacked by the man's mysterious new dōjutsu.
Suddenly, Naruto and Sakura found themselves in a different dimension where everyone they know is acting differently. However, this got more complicated when they saw Naruto’s parents alive in that world.
And take note, we were not only watched Naruto in the movie, I even met him in person together with his counterpart! And we posed great shots as seen below:
Hahaha! But did you know that the Naruto I've met in person was a girl?! Yes, she was a girl! Did you noticed it?! She has a long black hair when she transformed back in person! That's the power Naruto unleashed!
The said movie officially opens exclusively in SM Cinemas on April 9, 2013. The premiere night took place on April 8.
During that night, all of us truly felt that we were one of them! We joined and merged with Naruto in his quest and battle for the road to Ninja! (RCB)
My 2012 Metro Manila Film Festival experience wouldn't be completed if I wasn't able to watch two of the most awarded and blockbuster movies of the film fest, the "Sisterakas" and the "One More Try." On the last day of the festival (January 8, 2013), we found time to watch these two exciting movies from Star Cinema!
It seems that we were having a movie marathon watching these two films in a back-to-back mode, one after the other. We decided to watch first "Sisterakas" since we were quite late in the movie house then our finale went to "One More Try."
A balance night or should I say a mixed emotion took place on the said night since from full comedy offered by Kris Aquino, Ai Ai Delas, and Vice Ganda, we shifted crying because of the heavy emotions showcased by the characters of Dingdong Dantes, Angelica Panganiban, Zanjoe Marudo, and Angel Locsin in the film festival's 1st Best Picture winner, "One More Try."
It seemed that another incident took place watching two movies in one night. Remember last December 2012, the other two MMFF movies namely "Sosy Problems" and "Shake Rattle and Roll 14: The Invasion" had their respective premiere nights at the same time?! So, I need to shift from one cinema to another to catch them both!
"Sisterakas" and "One More Try" truly fulfilled our night. They were truly satisfying! My friends bet "Sisterakas" since they made us laughed in a natural way! But for me, of course "One More Try" is my No. 1. Aside from being an Angel Locsin movie, I can relate to the story of "One More Try." I even love the passionate love / bed scenes of the lead characters! :)
If time permits, I will share with you my reviews in separate posts for these two great movies of 2012!
It's great to note that my 2012 movie events ended with MMFF (via "Sosy Problems" and "Shake RAttle and Roll 14") and my 2013 movie events begun also with MMFF (via "Sisterakas" and "One More Try"). Yes, "Sosy" and "SSR" were my last movies for 2012 while "Sisterakas" and "OMT" were my first movies for 2013! Cool!
I hope everybody enjoys the concluded MMFF! 'Till next time! (RCB)
We are currently on the so-called "Season of Horror and Terror" as we are celebrating the Halloween, All Saints Day, and All Souls Day. Different horror stories were currently airing on the different TV stations, topics and themes of the different parties, and features on the different movies.
Now inline with the season, I will also share with you one of my horror-theme portraits!
Do you believe in the Filipino folklore "Aswang"?! Or do you already encountered in real-life these human-eating creatures of the dark?! How does it feel being an "Aswang" imagining yourself being one of them?!
Well, let me share with you my "Aswang" moments together with the "Aswang" guy who turned me wild just like him:
He made me thirst for a human flesh! He turned me salivating to eat the inner organs of a human being!
I got my best shots with an Aswang guy during the Premiere Night of "Tiktik: The Aswang Chronicles." The setup of the SM Megamall Cinema 9 depicted a 'pugad ng mga aswang' place! Dried leaves, bloody human organs, and Aswangs surrounded the venue! And I got one of the best Aswang guy to shot!
"Ang Sarap Magpa-Aswang," my recent status I had posted in my Facebook account identifying one of these photos! :) How do you love our photos?! Happy Halloween Everyone!(RCB)
For the second time now, I was invited by my blogger friend Kuya Ferdz of TaDi ("Tatak Digitista") to watch and scream for the premiere nights of two Hollywood movies brought to us by the SM Cinema Exclusives or CinExlusive. Well, the movies we watched together with my officemate friend were truly inline with the Halloween season - they were both terrifying which awaken our senses! Let me share with you my frightening experience watching this second horror movie (I'll share the first one in my next post).
"Dead Mine" is actually the first original feature produced by HBO Asia and making its cinema debut this coming November 9, 2012. There are many good things to note about this movie aside from the breath-taking thriller it offers. Let me count it to you one by one.
First, I like how the casts were put together. Yeah, the actors portraying different roles in the movie actually came from different part of the world. Hunks Sam Hazeldine and Les Loveday of Great Britain, cult action star Miki Mizuno of Japan, cutie heartthrob Jimmy T of Singapore, tough hunky dudes Ario Bayu, Bang Tigor, Joe Taslim and Mike Lewis of Indonesia, and our very own sweetheart Carmen Soo of Malaysia comprise the main cast members! It's nice to see Ms. Carmen Soo who once became part of the Philippine showbiz (particularly in the teleserye "Kahit Isang Saglit" with Jericho Rosales) back in the movie scene via an anticipating Hollywood movie like this.
Jimmy T, Sam Hazeldine and Miki Mizuno Fight Until the End
Mike Lewis, Carmen Soo and Les LovedayAll Face Death in a Tragic Way!
The second good thing about this movie is that it makes you proud about our country. Count how many times the words "Philippines" and "Yamashita" mentioned in the movie! Yamashita or Yamashita treasure is actually part of the Philippine History as it depicts the Japanese invasion in the country forming one of the most important blocks of Filipino history! Conflicts in the movie started as the group of Les Loveday hunts the Yamashita treasure in Bali, Indonesia!
Third, the story is unpredictable! We all know that the lead stars of the different movies stay alive until the end. But after you witnessed the ending of this movie, you will get shock on how it was concluded!
Fourth, this movie is actually the second film (next to "The Healing") which truly puts me on the state of shock! In the middle of the movie, my heart was beating faster and faster! My 'kaba' was raised to its highest point when the lead stars were hunted by the dead soldiers or when the evil monsters kill the cast!
The Good Soldiers were Yet to Defeat!
The Dead Soldiers of the Dark!
Fifth, the movie didn't only combined action and horror. It also merged the past and the future! Yes, the movie has a touch of historical facts but at the same time presented in futuristic approach. Imagine how the metal immortal soldiers and the oldies who retain youthful and active via experimental formula formed through a hi-tech futuristic approach!
To visualize how the story goes, here is the full trailer of "Dead Mine" for you to watch:
Actually while watching this movie, I visualize it as a "Walking Dead" three times higher! The monsters and the evil metal soldiers in this movie were the hi-tech versions of the TV series zombies! Cool.
Even though I already watched this movie during its premiere night, I also want to watch it over and over again! There is really no 'sawa' factor in this horror flick. I am highly recommending this movie. Two thumbs up! It will truly be a sure hit. Happy Halloween!(RCB)
