Kim Chiu and Xian Lim created another record, this time in the blockbuster hit! Their movie "Bride for Rent" is undeniably one of the greatest movies Star Cinema had produced. And yes, this rom-com film is another candidate to be the next highest grossing Pinoy movie of all time!
I got curious why this movie received many positive feedback from the viewers and from the netizens. So, I decided to watch the film and found the reasons why.
At first, I thought that this movie is another ordinary romance-comedy flick that only aims to spread 'kilig' to the audience. But definitely, it's not! One of the noticeably good features of this movie is that, it is full of family values and moral lessons!
First, it emphasized the importance of marriage. In our current generation, we are exposed to the different movies and TV series tackling 'kabit,' mistress, or third party. But this film broke the trends! It gave inspiration to married couples and inspired the future grooms and brides to the importance of marriage vows. I love the part how the film inserted interviews of real-life couples sharing inspirational stories about their weddings!
Second, it paid attention to the importance of family in our lives. Kim and Xian who were playing Rocky and Rocco in the film came from two different families with two different statues. Rocky was the breadwinner of their family. She didn't afraid to take different challenges just to help her family. On the other way around, Rocco is raised as a rich kid. But even though he's full of wealth, he's unhappy because of his issue with his father (played by Tirso Cruz III). But in the end, Rocco resolved the conflict with his father and open a happy relationship with him.
The love team KimXi once more didn't failed us to give different 'kilig' moments. Kim and Xian compromise one another. They were truly a perfect match in the movie. Watching them together in this film seems like watching an Asianovela. The complete ingredients everyone is looking for in our favorite Koreanovela were all there in the tandem of Kim Chiu and Xian Lim!

My favorite part in this movie is the scene where Rocky fantasized that Rocco is kissing her. While Rocky is instructing Rocco to do more household chores in the kitchen, Rocco came wet and hot looking at her (while the movie's theme song "Chinito" was playing as the background music) then kissed her! "Sobrang nakakakilig ang eksenang iyon!"
In terms of acting, I can say that Kim is "lalong gumagaling!" She is perfect and a very good actress in playing 'kwela' roles. "Magaan panuorin, hindi masyadong madrama!" But of course she can play heavy drama as well as proven by her previous movies and TV series. On the other hand, Xian is too hot to handle in this movie. He can effectively portray his spoiled-brad character in the story. I love how he dressed up in this film!
What captivates my heart in this movie?! Well, its theme song! The song "Chinito" popularized by Ms, Yeng Constantino which is the movie's OST is also my theme song of my current love life! "Kaya relate much ako dito" adding the fact that Kim's character as Rocky is also my real name! "Saan ka pa!"

After watching this movie, it feels like "gusto ko na ring mag-asawa!" I love the story, I love the plot, I love the values, I love the characters, I love the theme song...ang galing ng Star Cinema! Kudos!
Ms. Mae Czarina Cruz, the director of the movies like "24/7 in Love" and "She's the One" is also the lady behind this film! Congrat direk for another successful movie! Looking forward for your new masterpiece as well as KimXi's third movie together! Two thumbs up guys! (RCB)
